Get Involved

We are honored to provide veterans with a memorable journey that will strengthen their pride in serving our country. Even for years after the trip, we aim for veterans to reminisce on the experience as one of the best moments in their lives.

Veterans are not the only ones affected by an Honor Flight. Family members, Guardians, volunteers, and generous donors all have personal stories of how Inland Northwest Honor Flight has changed their lives.

Veterans

Any man or woman who served on active duty at any time and during the following dates is considered a veteran of the war/conflicts and is eligible to participate. Priority is given to veterans of earlier war/conflicts and to any terminally ill veterans.

Vietnam War: February 28, 1961-May 7, 1975

Lebanon/Grenada: August 24, 1982-July 31, 1984

Panama: December 20, 1989-January 31, 1990

If you are a veteran who would like to go on a trip to your memorial in Washington D.C. please download and fill out the application, and send to our address at the bottom of this page.

Honor Flight Network recognizes American Veterans for your sacrifices and achievements by flying you to Washington, D.C. to see your memorial at no cost.

In order for Honor Flight Network to achieve this goal, guardians fly with the veterans on every flight providing assistance and helping veterans have a safe, memorable and rewarding experience

Guardians

From the moment the veterans are in our hands until we return them to their loved ones in the evening, guardians will be asked to treat these heroes as if they are family and ensure that every veteran has a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience.

During our trips, we divide the veterans into groups and assign three mobile veterans to one guardian or one guardian to a veteran who requires a wheelchair. Even before the veterans arrive at the airport, the guardian’s responsibilities begin with flight preparation and going over their packets of material. Once the veterans start to arrive, guardians will ensure boarding passes and IDs are available, distribute Honor Flight Network tee shirts, get the veterans through security and to the gate, assist in boarding, etc.

Guardians are expected to pay for their trip. Prices will vary depending on airline fares.

If you would like to go on a trip to Washington D.C., as a Guardian, please download and fill out the application, and send to our address at the bottom of this page.

Volunteers
